    BOB - Go Racing (Fevas + OB)

    Blokes on Boats – Go Racing is a great, relaxed way for Blokes to take their first steps to start racing or to improve on sail racing skills already acquired. Participants must be capable of sailing a boat around a triangular course without instruction. There is informal tuition about how to race at the level of starting to enter races at a sailing club. Safety boat cover is available and everybody is encouraged to learn at their own pace. Participants can sail the Club’s Fevas or use their own boat.

    RYA Dinghy Instructor

    This 5-day course is suited for those who wish to use their sailing skills to teach and enthuse others in the sport of sailing. The course will cover teaching techniques afloat and ashore. Candidates will be required to demonstrate competence in course preparation, delivery and management, as well as customer liaison. Assumed sailing ability is competence in boat handling and experience sailing in strong winds. The Pre-entry assessment must be completed within one year prior to the instructor course. Required certificates include: First Aid certificate (type must be approved by RYA); RYA Powerboat Level 2; RYA Safe and Fun certificate and pre-course work. The minimum age for this course is 16.

    RYA Start Racing OB

    This course is designed to give the confidence, skills and knowledge to take part in club racing in good conditions. It is assumed that every student starting this course has already mastered the practical skills of sailing around a triangle without active instruction and absorbed the background knowledge required for RYA Level 2 or RYA Level 3. The course can be taken in either the Club’s Fevas or in participants’ own boats; where the option for club Fevas cannot be selected, the course MUST be done in participants own boat.

    RYA Level 1 or 2

    Level 1: This assumes no previous knowledge and is a great introduction to sailing. You will learn how to sail in all directions, including an awareness of launching and recovery.

    Level 2: This assumes sailing skills to the standard of Level 1. The course includes rigging, launching, and sailing in all directions. There is a capsize recovery and essential safety knowledge.
